Outstanding new Vex'd album
Friday 19 March 2010 at 5:35 pmI just ordered the new Vex'd album "Cloud Seed". The first preview on planet.mu blew me away. There's a large variety of genres in every track, but it's very dubstep rooted and bass heavy as hoped and expected. So far Vex'd are one of the few dubstep artists that surprise me every time. And the long waiting for this excellent piece of work paid his ass off.
Thanks Vex'd!1!!
BTW: great new site, planet mu!

Socalled in Jena
Friday 31 July 2009 at 12:00 pmI'm talking about the Socalled concert during the Kulturarena in Jena on July the 25th. That was the g*d dam**d best open air concert I have been at. Not just the unusal (but perfect) mix of Hip Hop and Jewish music also the awesome vibe on and off the stage carried me away.
In the middle of the concert Josh, Allen and Michael came down the stage and walked through the audience to play pure, unplugged Jewish music with an accordion, a violin and a clarinet. Consequently the people gathered round them dancing in circles. I have never been on a jewish wedding but this just felt like one to me. And then somebody accidently broke a glass standing on the floor - my girlfriend: "Mazel tov!".
Back on stage they continued with a beatiful acapella part including the outstanding voice of Katie. Later some people from the audience started to blow bubbles and Josh shouted "Pustefix" and I wondered what that had to mean - was this jewish? Probably not. At home I searched for it on the internet and found out that this is german brand which manufactures bubble toys. After I saw the company website I realised that Josh wore a T-shirt with this logo beneath his pearly-white suite.
What more need to be said? Very nice music, very nice people, a lot of fun. All in all a gorgeous evening.
Thank you a million times guys!
Somatic Responses on Dub
Tuesday 26 May 2009 at 2:00 pm
What the heck is this new sound of the Somatic Responses duo?!
I was looking for some new IDM stuff on the iTunes Store to spoil my ears, but I didn't expect something like Reformation (the new album of Somatic Responses). I don't now how to describe this sound… it's huge, grimy and IDMish but most of all heavily influenced by Dubstep. In one word: amazing! Here you can listen to every track in full length.
It only remains for me to add: Go, buy it! ;)
Hits of 76ix
Tuesday 17 March 2009 at 5:40 pmI just bought the identically named album (released on skam 2004) of Mr. 76ix. I already had 3 (Minority Of 1) but couldn't get enough of its sound. And if Hits Of 76ix Par2 is approximately as good as the other two releases… It's bought.
Greetings!
